Wilson Golf has advanced its award-winning Staff Model golf ball franchise with the introduction of two new tour-calibre performance offerings – the Staff Model and Staff Model X.

Building on the global acclaim earned over the past two years for exceptional all-around performance, the latest four-piece urethane constructions deliver enhanced speed, control, durability and feel for elite players.

Both models are also available in the popular TRK360 alignment-focused design, providing golfers with improved visual feedback and precision on the greens.

“The new Staff Model and Staff Model X golf balls are engineered with distinct performance attributes to meet the needs of different elite players,” said Frank Simonutti, Global Director of Golf Ball Innovation.

The balls are engineered using advanced V-COR performance technology which utilises a unique core composition to magnify energy and generate maximum velocity off the club face for the fastest ball speeds on the market, according to internal testing*.

Staff Model

The Staff Model ball features a compression of 90, which is 10 points softer that the Staff Model X. This ball is designed for the elite golfer who wants the performance of a Tour caliber golf ball but prefers a lower spin rate than a harder urethane ball.

The 2026 Staff Model iteration produces ball velocity, distance, and a lower spin rate (~ 3.5% to 4%) than “harder” premium urethane balls on both driver and irons. The ball utilises a soft-compression rubber core, a softer inner mantle layer to control driver spin, a hard ionomer outer mantle layer for velocity and distance, and a thin, soft cast urethane cover layer for exceptional spin on approach shots.

The dimple pattern of the Staff Model ball comprises 362 dimples arranged in a modified hexahedral pattern. The dimple pattern is designed to produce the optimum flight trajectory to maximise distance performance.

Staff Model X

The new Staff Model X remains the World’s Fastest Urethane golf ball but now offers a softer feel and sound to address feedback from Wilson Tour professionals.

This was achieved with a construction comprising a small, mid-compression core, a soft fatty-acid modified terpolymer inner mantle layer, an extra-stiff ionomer outer cover layer, and an ultra-thin cast urethane cover.

The softer compression core, compared to the previous Staff Model X, reduces driver spin rate, the soft inner mantle layer provides a combination of velocity and feel/sound, the stiff outer mantle layer provides ball velocity, and a thin, soft cast urethane cover combines with the outer mantle layer to provide exceptional spin on approach shots.

The dimple pattern of the Staff Model X is a 362 hexagonal seamless dimple pattern designed to produce the optimum flight trajectory to maximise distance performance.

For added shelf appeal to global golfers, both Staff Model balls incorporate new eye-catching premium packaging to match its on-course performance.

Hanser added that the introduction of the Staff Model XB allows more golfers to fit into the range, while still maintaining a consistent look and feel across all three models.

Crafted from forged 8620 carbon steel, one of the softest materials used in iron construction, the new Staff Model irons are designed to deliver excellent workability and immediate feedback at impact.

A precision milled face and scoreline pattern promotes longer ball to face contact for more consistent spin and improved stopping power.

Wilson’s Fluid Feel Technology redistributes mass towards the centre of the face, while the centre of gravity has been carefully positioned away from the heel to enhance overall performance.

Wilson Golf has expanded its DYNAPWR driver family with the launch of the new DYNAPWR Max+ driver, which the company says is the straightest and most forgiving driver it has ever produced.

The Max+ has been engineered to deliver a moment of inertia beyond the 10K mark, giving the clubhead exceptional stability at impact.

The result is straighter tee shots and more consistent ball flights, particularly for golfers who do not always find the centre of the face.

Despite reaching this high forgiveness threshold, Wilson says it has avoided increasing overall clubhead mass, a common trade off with ultra high MOI designs.

10K MOI without added mass

The driver is fully adjustable, featuring a six way adjustable hosel and an adjustable rear weight. This allows players to dial in launch and spin characteristics to suit their swing and playing conditions.

Jared Guttmann, Wilson’s manager of advanced golf research and development, said the design approach was focused on efficiency rather than simply adding weight.

He explained that while many 10K MOI drivers rely on extra mass to achieve stability, that can come at the cost of clubhead and ball speed.

According to Guttmann, the Max+ maintains high speeds while still delivering maximum forgiveness.

Re engineered PKR 360 face technology

Performance has been further enhanced through a re engineered PKR 360 face design and aerodynamically inspired shaping aimed at increasing clubhead speed.

The latest PKR 360 construction builds on the technology used in the 2025 DYNAPWR LS, Carbon and Max drivers, with particular attention paid to improving heel side performance without sacrificing speed or consistency across the rest of the face.

Wilson says the new face design delivers significantly greater control points around the perimeter, allowing engineers to remove five grams from the face and reposition that mass toward the rear of the head.

This shift helps achieve the 10K MOI target while keeping the overall clubhead weight unchanged.

Manufacturing tolerances have also been tightened to keep characteristic time at the USGA limit and maximise ball speed within the rules.

Built for forgiveness on mishits

Forgiveness is further supported by optimised bulge and roll geometry.

The face features a rounder profile designed to better manage gear effect on off centre strikes, helping retain spin and maintain distance.

The aim is tighter dispersion and improved accuracy from the tee even on mishits.

Refined shaping and premium looks

The Max+ features a lightweight carbon crown and a newly engineered head shape that creates more usable volume throughout the body.

A lowered crown height and lighter face free up discretionary mass, allowing weight to be pushed farther from the centre of gravity and out towards the perimeter.

This refined shape delivers a confident look at address, including a high toe flare that enhances visual confidence while maintaining high levels of stability and playability.

Sound and feel tuned for performance

Acoustics were also a key focus during development. Wilson engineers used advanced topology optimisation, extensive simulation and multiple physical prototypes to refine the sound and feel at impact.

According to Guttmann, large profile drivers are particularly difficult to tune acoustically, especially for faster swingers, making sound and feel a major area of attention throughout the design process.

Availability and price

The Wilson DYNAPWR Max+ driver will be available next month with a recommended retail price of £429.

It will be offered with a stock UST LIN Q PowerCore Blue shaft in A, R and S flexes at 55 grams, as well as a UST Helium NCT 4 Lightweight shaft in a 40 gram lite flex.

Loft options include 9 degrees right handed, 10.5 degrees right and left handed, 12 degrees right handed and a 12 degree Lite right handed model.

What you should know: Wilson is expanding its Infinite putter lineup with two zero-torque mallets designed to keep the face square during the stroke, offering zero-torque-balanced performance at a more accessible price point.

The Deep Dive: To make putts consistently, golfers have to do things: judge how the undulations between you putt’s starting point and the hole will make your putt break, and how hard to strike the ball to make it roll on a path that gets it to the hole. When you can gauge speed and read greens well, you can make putts. But all of that assumes you have a reliable, repeatable putting stroke, and unfortunately, many club players don’t. Some golfers want to release the toe and let the putter swing. Others want to have as few moving parts as possible. Wilson’s new Infinite Zero Torque models, the 606 and Lakeview, can work for either group because of their unique balance.

Zero torque designs, like the Infinite 606 and Lakeview, are all about balance. In these putters, the shaft axis runs directly through the center of gravity (CG), so when you rest the putter in your hands, the head doesn’t want to twist open or shut. During the stroke, that means less face rotation and less manipulation is required to keep the face square to your stroke’s path. For players who struggle with missing left or right because of inconsistent face delivery, that balance point can be meaningful.

Wilson pairs that geometry with 1 degree of built-in forward shaft lean. It is a subtle detail, but it encourages proper hand position at address and can help golfers deliver a square face without adding or removing loft at impact. The idea is not to change your stroke, but to make it easier to repeat.

Both heads are produced using Metal Injection Molding (MIM). This construction injects super-heat metal powder into a mold and is exceptionally precise. It allows for accurate shaping and mass placement, which is critical in a zero-torque design where the CG location is the whole story. It also enables the refined lines and edges golfers will notice in both models. The face features a double-milled pattern designed to create a consistent contact surface and promote predictable roll, even on strikes that wander slightly from center.

Visually, the two models take different approaches.

The 606 is a compact winged mallet with a structured look at address. Two alignment lines frame the golf ball, complemented by a single alignment dot. The shape pushes mass toward the perimeter for stability, while the alignment scheme gives players multiple visual cues to square the face. Golfers who prefer defined geometry and strong alignment references will likely gravitate to this model.

The Lakeview, by contrast, is a half-moon mallet with a single alignment line. The profile is rounded and understated. It still delivers the same zero-torque balance characteristics, but the visual package is simpler. For players who want mallet stability without a busy appearance behind the ball, Lakeview may feel more natural.

Both models feature a two-tone, PVD finish designed to reduce glare and frame the head clearly at address. They are offered in 34- and 35-inch lengths with a midsize grip.

Zero-torque putters have moved from niche curiosity to mainstream conversation over the past few seasons.
