RICHMOND, Va. — The Bag Boy Company, home of the #1 cart in golf and a brand with 80 years of innovation behind it, announced the launch of the Nitron Swivel, a premium evolution of its best-selling Nitron push cart. Building on the Nitron’s performance, the Nitron Swivel introduces a suite of new features designed to give golfers greater control, convenience, and storage on the course.

The Nitron Swivel features a 360-degree lockable swivel front wheel for effortless maneuvering on any terrain, an enhanced accessory storage bag with two exterior quick-access pockets and a dedicated umbrella slot, dual magnetic accessory plates (double the original Nitron’s single plate), and a dual rear brake system that locks both back wheels simultaneously, keeping the cart firmly in place on hills and slopes.

The Nitron Swivel also retains all the hallmarks that made the original Nitron the best-selling push cart in golf, including its compact fold size, lightweight frame, convenient storage console, tool-free assembly, and the iconic and patented one-step auto-open.

“The Nitron has been our best-selling cart for good reason. It delivers everything golfers want in a push cart, and the Nitron Swivel takes that foundation and adds thoughtful upgrades that golfers have been asking for,” said Pat Gallagher, Product Manager at Dynamic Brands, Bag Boy’s parent company. “As we celebrate 80 years of innovation this year, the Nitron Swivel is a perfect example of how we continue to push the category forward.”

The launch of the Nitron Swivel is timed to coincide with Bag Boy’s 80th anniversary, a milestone that underscores the brand’s unmatched legacy in the push cart market. Since its founding in 1946, Bag Boy pioneered the pull cart industry, set the standard for modern push carts, and today stands as the #1 Cart in Golf at retail, green grass, and online.

“Eight decades of innovation gives us a perspective that no other brand can match. The Nitron Swivel is the latest expression of that commitment, built on what golfers love about the Nitron and made even better with features that enhance every moment on the course,” said Craig Ramsbottom, President of Dynamic Brands. “We’re incredibly proud of our legacy, and even more excited about what’s ahead.”

PowaKaddy, the global leader in electric golf trolley innovation, has unveiled its 2025 cart bag collection, featuring four brand-new models and the latest evolution of its Mag-Lok technology.

The 2025 range introduces three entirely new bags; the FLEX, EDGE, and LITE – alongside a fully redesigned Dri Tech. The range offers golfers a choice of 16 style and colour combinations, resulting in a bold and contemporary lineup that delivers modern styling, purposeful performance, and seamless compatibility with PowaKaddy’s electric trolleys.

Continuing in name from the previous range is the hugely popular Dri Tech – which has been redesigned for 2025 and boasts a clean silhouette, modern styling, and class-leading waterproof protection.

Mag-Lok technology

With ultra-waterproof fabric, heat-welded seams and zips, a total of nine pockets and a hydrostatic rating of over 10,000mm, the Dri Tech keeps equipment dry in any conditions.

A 14-way divider, a lightweight build, and a selection of striking new colourways complete the offering.

New for 2025, the FLEX cart bag blends premium materials with a performance-first layout. Lightweight yet robust, FLEX is packed with practical features including 11 easy-access pockets and a reengineered divider system, delivering a tour-inspired feel in a modern silhouette.

Also new for this season, the EDGE is a feature-rich powerhouse with bold styling and practical storage solutions.

With a 14-way divider, 10 pockets, dedicated compartments for apparel, accessories and hydration, and a durable construction, EDGE is ideal for golfers who demand functionality and performance from their gear.

Weighing just 2.3kg, the LITE is the lightest bag in the 2025 collection, and is designed for golfers who prefer a simpler setup without compromising on essential features. A new name for 2025, the LITE includes a 14-way divider, and seven cleverly arranged pockets for a sleek, functional finish.

All four models come equipped with PowaKaddy’s innovative Mag-Lok system, which uses a high-strength magnet to effortlessly lock the bag onto any compatible PowaKaddy electric trolley – eliminating the need for a lower bag strap and making setup quicker and easier than ever.

Mag-Lok is supplied as standard with every 2025 bag, with simple instructions for attachment. For golfers using older trolley models, the collection also retains PowaKaddy’s trusted Key-Lock™ anti-twist base.

WHAT POWAKADDY SAY

PowaKaddy CEO, David Catford, commented: “The 2025 cart bag range marks a further leap forward for PowaKaddy bags. Every model is brand-new – with three new names and reimagined designs across the board – and each one is built to integrate perfectly with our electric and manual trolleys. Does storing a left-behind club in your bag count toward your total? https://golfingnetworks.com/does-storing-a-left-behind-club-in-your-bag-count-toward-your-total/ https://golfingnetworks.com/does-storing-a-left-behind-club-in-your-bag-count-toward-your-total/#respond Tue, 21 Apr 2026 12:23:06 +0000 https://golfingnetworks.com/does-storing-a-left-behind-club-in-your-bag-count-toward-your-total/

The Rules of Golf are tricky! Thankfully, we’ve got the guru. Our Rules Guy knows the book front to back. Got a question? He’s got all the answers.

During a local tournament, I walked onto a green and spotted a pitching wedge obviously left by a group ahead. After we all putted out, I picked up the wedge and put it in the basket of my cart, thinking I would drop it off at the clubhouse at the turn or give it to its owner if we caught up with him. After I teed off on the next hole, a fellow competitor said I had violated Rule 4, having more than 14 clubs in my possession which called for a 4-stroke penalty. I argued that I never intended to use the club and did not even put it in my bag, so it couldn’t be a violation. What say you? – Rick Itami, Liberty Lake, WA

We say kudos to you for not telling this dunderhead to go pound sand or taking even more drastic action.

Clearly, there can be quite a difference between referencing a Rule and knowing what in fact it says. Rule 4 — 4.1, to be exact — specifically covers this courteous act, noting it does not add to one’s club count, so long as the club isn’t used. Your competitor was at best wrong and at worst trying to get one (or four) over on you.

Rules Guy: Can an extra shaft count as your 14th club?

Can you carry clubs outside of your bag and not have them count toward the legal limit of 14? —Joseph Mills, Pinehurst, N.C.

Yes… but only if you balance them on your nose.

Come now, Joseph — 14 clubs maximum means 14 clubs maximum (per Rule 4.1b[1]), not 14 clubs and however many more you can stash under your armpit, in your opponent’s bag and behind bushes.

Breaching this rule is a two-stroke penalty per hole in stroke play, maximum two holes, and once you realize you’re in breach you must declare the extra clubs out of play immediately or be disqualified. Golf is a game of honor, not hoarding.

How Much You Should Pay for a Golf Bag (Plus Top Picks) https://golfingnetworks.com/how-much-you-should-pay-for-a-golf-bag-plus-top-picks/ https://golfingnetworks.com/how-much-you-should-pay-for-a-golf-bag-plus-top-picks/#respond Sat, 14 Mar 2026 15:42:13 +0000 https://golfingnetworks.com/how-much-you-should-pay-for-a-golf-bag-plus-top-picks/
How Much You Should Pay for a Golf Bag (Plus Top Picks)

Do you remember the days when a premium golf bag was $100?

Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Along with most other things in the sport, golf bags are getting more expensive. A lot of this comes down to the type of golf bag you choose, the brand, and the features you are looking for.

We have put together a guide to help you understand how much to pay for a golf bag and a few of our favorite picks for the best golf bags on the market.

How Much Does a New Golf Bag Cost?

A new golf bag can cost anywhere from around $50 to well over $500. The average golf bags are in the $150 to $300 range. One of the biggest indicators of golf bag pricing is the details of what you are looking for in the bag.

Value Bag

A value-priced golf bags are those in the $50-$100 range. The things you will quickly notice about these golf bags are that they are not feature-rich, and they are typically smaller.

Many Sunday golf bags fall into this category. They are low in price but won’t even have enough storage for all 14 of your golf clubs.

You can expect that with a value bag, the color will probably fade, and there will be issues with fabric and zippers at some point that cause you to need a replacement. However, for those on a budget or golfers looking for an extra bag, this is a good choice.

The value bag is also smart for beginners that are not sure they plan to stick with the game.

Average Bag

The average golf bag ranges from around $100 to $200. At the higher end of this range, you may see some premium bags that are a year or two old, and their pricing is starting to drop.

In this price range, you will notice that the cart bags are more expensive than the stand bags. Most cart bags are bigger and have some extra features that the stand bags don’t have. This makes them a bit more expensive.

Although this is not a cheap price range for bags, it is where most golfers will end up when they decide on something to purchase.

Premium Golf Bag

Premium golf bags are for golfers that are not willing to sacrifice features and functionality. If you want magnetic pockets, a place to store all of your valuables, and a removable ball pocket that can be customized, this is the category you will end up in.

Premium golf bags are known to last for a long time and often have fabric that does not fade or rip.

These golf bags are made by some of the best manufacturers in the game, and they often come with warranties. Expect the costs here to be over the $200 mark, with most getting closer to $300.

Luxury

A luxury golf bag will have many of the same features as a premium golf bag, except the fabric will typically be a bit more advanced. Many of these bags are leather or hand sewn and are ordered more as specialty items.

Although we consider this category to be in the $400-$500 range, there are some bags that can go into the $1000 range.

With luxury golf bags, you typically get something that is more of a one-of-a-kind piece. You will

also notice that many tour-style golf bags can be considered more of a luxury item.

The 2 Main Types of Golf Bags

There are two main types of golf bags a stand bag and a cart bag. Although you can use a stand bag for various purposes, using a cart bag for anything other than riding on a cart can be a bit of a nuisance.

Stand Bag

A stand bag is meant for walking the golf course. Most of these will come with a strap on the back that allows you to carry the golf bag almost like a backpack. The stand bag is typically sleek looking and a bit more lightweight than a cart bag.

One of the best things about stand bags is that if you choose not to walk the course and you want to ride for one round, the stand bag can work for you.

Most of the time, stand bags are a bit lower in price than cart bags.

Cart Bag

A cart bag is a golf bag designed specifically for a golf cart. When you put the golf cart bag into the cart, it straps in tightly and won’t move much as you play. Cart bags are great for protecting your golf clubs as well as allowing you to store all of your golf gear.

One thing that you have to watch out for with cart bags is that they are a bit heavier, and they can also be more money.

If you are a player that does not have much gear and doesn’t want much gear, you may not need a cart bag.

What You Should Expect to Pay for a Golf Bag (Based on Skill Level)

Another factor that comes into play when looking for a golf bag is how your skill level will impact the bag you choose. Of course, it’s fine for any player to choose a bag that they love; there are some things here to keep in mind.

Remember also that regardless of your handicap, you must consider whether you like to walk or ride the golf course. Walking the course with a big heavy cart bag is not fun at all!

Beginner/High Handicap

Beginners and high handicappers should look for golf bags that are lightweight and cheap. If golf ends up being a sport that you don’t stick with, there is no sense in owning a $400 golf bag. Stay in the $75 to $150 range.

If you go for a stand bag, walking becomes an option, and that can save some money as well.

Mid Handicap

The mid handicapper makes up the majority of the golfing population. This is the group of players that typically spend between $100 and $250 on a golf bag. If you play golf on a cart, most of the time, tour cart bags are a great solution; tour bags are not necessary at all.

With mid handicappers, make sure to have full-length apparel pockets to be able to fit golf in all year long and have the proper equipment with you.

Low Handicap

Low handicap players tend to look for golf bags that have a few extra features. Things like a cooler pocket, full length dividers to protect golf gear, premium shoulder strap, and easy lift handles. Low handicap players are often the most particular of golfers and spend $250 and up on new golf bags.

The type of golf bag that works best for low-handicap players will vary depending on whether you prefer to walk or ride the course.

Our Top 3 Golf Bags to Consider

Here are some of the best golf bags on the market in various price ranges. New bags come to the market every year, and they offer technology that you may not have even known about.
