LIV Golf’s Southern Guards GC partner with Oscar Jacobson

Southern Guards GC, the South African LIV Golf League team formerly known as Stinger Golf Club, has announced Oscar Jacobson as its official apparel partner, marking a major milestone following the team’s recent rebrand.

The partnership brings together Southern Guards GC and Oscar Jacobson Golf, a premium Swedish brand with a heritage in fine tailoring.

Renowned for blending timeless Scandinavian style with modern performance, Oscar Jacobson delivers sophisticated, versatile golf apparel that performs on the course while maintaining a sharp, refined aesthetic off it.

HERITAGE MEETS CULTURE

By combining its legacy in fashion tailoring with advanced performance design, the brand continues to expand its offering of modern golfwear that meets the demands of today’s athlete and lifestyle-driven consumer.

“This partnership represents a perfect alignment of values,” said Richard Glover, General Manager of Southern Guards GC. “As a team, we are proud of our South African identity and the culture, unity and resilience that define us.

Oscar Jacobson’s heritage, attention to detail and commitment to excellence mirror our own ambitions as we represent our country on the global LIV Golf stage.”

At the heart of Southern Guards GC’s refreshed identity is a celebration of collective strength, inspired by the African philosophy of Ubuntu – ‘I am because we are’.

This ethos underpins the team’s culture and is reflected in its new visual identity.  Central to the rebrand is the rhino, a powerful symbol in South African culture representing strength, resolve and legacy which will feature across all of the Oscar Jacobson styles.

“Oscar Jacobson has always stood for craftsmanship, performance and timeless style,” said  Graeme Stevens, at Oscar Jacobson Golf.

“Partnering with Southern Guards GC at this pivotal moment in their journey is incredibly exciting.

Their story, values and renewed identity resonate strongly with our brand, and we are proud to support the team with apparel that reflects confidence, versatility and modern elegance.”

HOME SOIL

The announcement comes at a defining moment for Southern Guards GC, just months before LIV Golf tees off on African soil for the first time.

LIV Golf South Africa is set to take place at Steyn City, Johannesburg, from 19–22 March 2026, with more than 70,000 tickets already sold. As anticipation continues to build, momentum around the event – and its host team – shows no signs of slowing.

The new Southern Guards line of team apparel will be available in the U.K. from mid February at www.oscarjacobsongolf.co.uk and from selected retail partners.
